No one could expect that kids could sexually harassed you in public.
This was the warning of netizen Krishia Anne Mendoza, a medical technology student from Far Eastern University after she experienced harassment inside a public utility vehicle on April 29.
The worst part is the one who harassed her were street kids who also rode the same jeep on that day.
According to her post, the kids looked under her skirt and started to harassed her verbally.
Fortunately, another passenger informed the jeepney driver who’s unaware of what’s already happening inside his vehicle.
When the kids noticed that she’s going to take some pictures of them, they quickly left the vehicle and ran away. She only got the photo of one of the kids who harassed her.
In her post, Krishia Anne prayed that she’s the last girl who will experience that kind of harassment from the kids.
Even some of the netizens were familiar with the kids on the picture and it seems that they are already notorious in that place.
Some sources said that the kids are only the few members of ‘panty gang’ in Manila who regularly harassed students in public vehicles.
Despite of the actions that they did, the street children who sexually harassed Krishia Anne are protected by Juvenile Justice Welfare Act of 2006 also known as the ‘Pangilinan Law’
Some Netizens who read the story of Anne were afraid that the street children who learn to harass people in a young age could become a notorious criminal someday.
Even President Rodrigo Duterte believes that the Pangilinan Law could produce a ‘generation of criminals’ because they are not afraid to violate the law because they know that they are protected and cannot be arrested by the authorities.
