A soldier who’s already prepared to die in battle, wrote a farewell letter to his wife before he was deployed to Marawi City so he can express his final instructions to his family once he died in battle.
Sergeant Jeff Sangdaan, a member of Scout Ranger died during the fight between the government forces and Maute Terrorist Group in Marawi City on July 3.
But his family had no idea that Sgt. Sangdaan already prepared his farewell letter to his wife that she received when the fallen Scout Ranger already fulfilled his duty.
The Facebook Fanpage “A Soldier’s Love” posted the touching letter of Sangdaan to his wife. The letter was about his farewell to his wife, his childhood dream to become a soldier and his last will and testament.
In the first part of his letter, Sgt. Sangdaan informed his wife that he already fulfilled his duty as a soldier once she read the letter that he made. Sangdaan also said that he thought when he was still a kid that war is only a child’s play.
Habang binabasa mo to.
He also instructed his wife where his body must be buried.
At habang binabasa mo to andun nako.
The letter also said that Sgt. Sangdaan leaves his pregnant wife and despite of his will to see the birth of their baby girl, he chose to do his duty as a soldier. Sangdaan also wished that someday, his wife can find someone that will take care of her.
In the final part of his letter, Sangdaan instructed his wife to tell his mother that he never regretted to follow the footstep of his father who’s also a soldier.
