WATCH: Senator Tito Sotto tells Sec. Taguiwalo after knowing that she’s a single mother: “Na-Ano ka lang”

Many solo parents went furious after hearing Senator Tito Sotto’s remarks to Department of Social Welfare and Development Sectary Judy Taguiwalo as she faced the Commission on Appointments Wednesday May 3.

The Senator made the remarks when he and Taguiwalo was talking about the personal information of the DSWD Secretary.

Sotto asked why the DSWD Secretary if she’s a single parent and when Taguiwalo confirmed it, the senator made the controversial remark that offended many netizen.

“Ah in the street language, when you have children and you’re single ang tawag diyan ‘na-ano lang’,” Tito Sotto told Taguiwalo.

In response, Secretary Taguiwalo informed Sotto that she’s teaching people how to ‘respect all kind of families’ including ‘solo parents’

 

 

After the hearing, the DSWD Secretary was confirmed by the Commission of Appointments and started her job quickly.

Secretary Judy Taguiwalo is not yet giving any statement on the remarks of Senator Tito Sotto.
