WATCH: Soldiers become emotional as they saying goodbye to their relatives before being deploy in Marawi

Soldiers of 82nd Infantry Batallion of Philippine Army and their family members became emotional during their send-off ceremony at the Iloilo Airport on Saturday.

The 428 soldiers and 19 officials from 82IB were sent to Marawi and flew via C-130 plane of Philippine Air Force to help the government to exterminate the Maute Terrorist Group who still controlled the 20% of the city.

“Sinumpaan namin na ipaglaban ang bayan, at protektahan ang Sambayanang Pilipino. Dalawang bagay lang ang mangyayari, makakauwi ng patay o makakauwi ng buhay dala ang tagumpay” the soldiers said before being sent to Marawi.

 

Family members of the soldiers didn’t stopped their tears as they hugged their warriors who’s going to risk their lives just to prevent the victory of the Islamic State in the Philippines.

Some of the soldiers also cried because they are unsure of what will happen to them during their deployment in Marawi City.

“Too proud of this unit.82nd IB family. Guardians of freedom. Please do comeback alive. We will pray for you all. God bless!” Netizen Marjorie Hervo said.

Despite of the sadness, some families of the soldiers were proud that their relatives is going to fight for the country against the people who wanted to destroy the peace and order in Mindanao.
