President Rodrigo Duterte told Vice President Leni Robredo to avoid being in rush to become the most powerful in the Philippines.
During his speech addressed to the Filipino Community in Bangkok Thailand, President Duterte said that his Vice President was in a hurry to grab his power.
“Apurado.. gusto akong paalisin.. di pa nga ako dumating ng isang taon dito paalisin mo na ko,” President Duterte said.
Duterte joked that if Robredo really wanted to become the President, the Vice President should marry him.
“Sige dalaga man siya [Robredo].. pakasalan mo ko.. so dalawa na tayo dito,” he said.
The proposal of President Duterte gave laugh to the Filipino community.
He also told Robredo that the Vice President still not doing anything for the country and asked her to wait until his term ends.
“Wag kang magmadali.. maghintay ka … Wala ka pa namang ginawa sa bayan,” Duterte said.
Last week, Vice President Leni Robredo released a video message informing the international community about the alleged human rights violations committed by the current administration.
An impeachment complaint was also filed against President Rodrigo Duterte a day after the video was released.
House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez tagged Robredo as one of the people who planned the impeachment complaint against President Duterte.
