Wife of Andres Bautista reveals that the COMELEC chair have P1-B worth of ill-gotten wealth

Patricia Paz “Tish” Bautista, the wife of Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair Andres Bautista, revealed that her husband might amassed nearly P1 billion worth of ill-gotten wealth.

She also met President Rodrigo Duterte on August 1, five days before she submitted the affidavit to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) informing the country’s leader that she discovered had discovered several passbooks as well as bank and real property documents under her husband’s name and some of his relatives that were not included in his 2016 SALN.

In her affidavit, Patricia said that her husband is ‘liable to be impeached’ because Andres Bautista is the current Comelec Chair.

Bautista was appointed to the Comelec by then former President Benigno Aquino in May 2010, he was also appointed by Aquino in 2010 as Presidential Commission on Good Government, the agency tasked to recover the ill-gotton wealth of former President Ferdinand Marcos.

According to the news report of Inquirer, these were the information disclosed by Patricia to President Duterte and to the NBI.

• 35 Luzon Development Bank (LDB) passbooks with a total balance of P329,220,962
• A foreign currency account with Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. RCBC) with $12,778.30, or P640,959.53 (at P50.16 [as of Aug. 4] to $1.00)
• An RCBC peso account with P257,931.60
• An HSBC account with HK$948,358.97 or P6.10 million (at P6.43 to HK$1.00)
• A condominium unit in One Bonifacio High Street at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City
• A condo unit in The District in San Francisco, California

Patricia said that he was not aware of the other real properties listed in her husband’s SALN.

She also said that her husband always kept her in the dark when it came to their wealth.

Patricia also discovered that her husband invested big amount of money abroad “in form of his interest in corporations and loan agreements” that were not declared in his SALN:

• Bauman Enterprises Ltd., a company established in the British Virgin Islands on Sept. 29, 2010; a trustee company that Bautista set up with Bank of Singapore.
• Mantova International Ltd., established in Brunei Darussalam on April 26, 2011.
• Mega Achieve Inc., established in Anguilla, a British overseas territory in the Caribbean, on July 15, 2014,

She asked Andy about these companies, but her husband denied that he was involved in these investments.

Patricia said that since 2013, she already wanted to separate with Andres Bautista.

She also seek some help to President Duterte because she’s afraid that Bautista and his connections might do something bad to her.

“I am getting scared… I am holding these stuff. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know how far-reaching it is. I don’t know what to do, right?” Patricia said.

“So I would think that the safest place to bring this is there (referring to Malacañang), because at the end of the day, this is the President. This is as high as it goes,” she added.

Patricia said that the President was so much ‘surprised’ when she revealed the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the Comelec chair.

Patricia also told the press that Andres Bautista cut off all the financial support to his family, to pressure her to give up the documents that she discovered.

“although extremely professionally qualified, should not be allowed to hold any government position as a consequence of the possible ramifications of what I have found.” Patricia said in her affidavit.

Comelec chair Bautista is not yet giving any official statement on the revelation of his wife against him.

Uncovering the man behind the blind item of Arnold Clavio several months ago

It seems that Andres Bautista is the man behind the blind item of Arnold Clavio that published several months ago.

According to the blind item of Arnold Clavio, a public official was caught by her wife hiding documents in his condo unit.

The wife of a public official discovered confidential documents like depository slip in the condo unit of the public official which he called as ‘angry bird’.

“Worse, the wife also discovered 400 million pesos in cash in the condominium unit, deposit slips and other incriminating documents against ‘Angry Bird’.” Clavio said in his report.

‘Mrs. Public Official’ also discovered that paid girls were brought in the condo unit of ‘Angry Bird’.

Arnold Clavio also said in his report that ‘Angry Bird’ threatened his wife that he would cut financial support to his family if ‘Mrs. Public Official’ was not going to give back all the documents that she discovered.

Alleged ‘secret meeting’ with VP Robredo

Last year, the Comelec chair was also put in hot water after a Facebook fan page posted a video of Bautista and Robredo attended a same event at the Urdaneta Apartments in Makati.

The video, uploaded on the Facebook page “Dayaang Matuwid,” shows Robredo arriving at the area and then the Vice President and Comelec chief separately leaving. There was no footage of their supposed meeting.

But both Robredo and Bautista denied that they met secretly and they only greeted each other in the party.

“Actually, there were more than 30 people, with members of the diplomatic corps in attendance. So, there was no secret meeting whatsoever. In fact, I only had a one sentence ‘Hello, Madam Vice President,’ and that was it,'” Bautista said.
