Binibining Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel De Leon lambasted Mocha Uson on her twitter account after the latter was appointed as assistant secretary of Presidential Communications Operations Office.
After she heard the news, De Leon expressed her disappointment for the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to appoint Mocha in PCOO.
“What is happening Philippines” De Leon tweeted after seeing the letter of the Malacañang to Uson.
De Leon said that it broke her heart that someone like Uson got a position in the government.

She said that she’s proud wearing the sash that says Philippines, but she was disappointed of what’s happening in the government.

She also criticized the fake news which she said that bringing the Philippines ‘down deeper’ and encouraged the netizens to speak about this kind of issues.

The Miss International 2017 of the Philippines also said that she’s not afraid to voice her opinions.

De Leon said that many people deserved the PCOO position than Mocha Uson who is more educated and respectful than the social media blogger.
She believes that Mocha Uson was biased and disrespectful and always insulted the people that against her.

De Leon defended her rights for freedom of expression and she believes that the country was more important than the crown.

The appointment of Mocha Uson became controversial. Netizens, most of them are millenials questioned the capability of the celebrity blogger to handle the media affairs of the Malacañang Palace.
President Rodrigo Duterte defended the appointment of Mocha and he said that the celebrity blogger was ‘bright and articulate’
He also said that everybody deserved a chance to serve the government like Uson.
