Duterte says that NCRPO Chief Albayalde will be the next head of PNP

President Rodrigo Duterte announced in his speech at the Rizal Hall of Malacanang Palace on April 5, 2018 that National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Oscar Albayalde would be the next PNP Director General.

This would confirm that the rumours that Albayalde would replace PNP Director General chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa this month are true.

According to the article of politics.ph, Albayalde will head the PNP starting April 19.

Duterte believed that the strict personality of Albayalde would be good for the Philippine National Police.

“The stricter, the better.” Duterte said.

Albayalde got a media mileage after he caught several sleeping cops during his surprise visits around NCR.

He didn’t hesitate to punish the police officers showing laziness during work hours.

Dela Rosa and Albayalde both belong to the Philippine Military Academy “Sinagtala” Class of 1986.

Unlike the PNP chief, Albayalde didn’t come from Davao City. He was born and raised in San Fernando City, Pampanga, and became head of the provincial police office.

Several months ago, Deputy Director General Ramon Apolinario has been rumored to be the next leader of PNP, however President Rodrigo Duterte didn’t confirmed if the rumors are true and instead ordered the extension of Dela Rosa’s term.

Meanwhile, Dela Rosa is expected to lead the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
