Freed Norwegian Hostage thanks Duterte for saving him from the Abu Sayaff

Norwegian hostage Kjartan Sekkingstad was released by his captors Abu Sayaff Group earlier today Saturday at around 2 PM somewhere in Patikul Sulu.

Kjartan Sekkingstad who became a hostage of the Abu Sayaff since September last year thanked President Duterte for saving him from the Terrorist Group.

According to the official statement of Presidential Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza and Presidential Communications of the Philippines, His first words when he spoke to Kjartan on the phone is : “Thank you to President Duterte.”

The Norwegian is now staying overnight at the place of MNLF Chairman Nur Misuary in Barangay Kagay who volunteered to protect him until the heavy rains in the place ends.

The other foreign hostages of Abu Sayaff, John Ridsdel and Robert Hall were both beheaded months ago by the Terrorist Group.
