Vice President Leni Robredo was not impressed with the government action in the provinces where Typhoon Nina hit.
After spending her days in United States while the Typhoon destroying the Bicol Region and other provinces, Leni Robredo complained about the slow efforts of the government especially in bringing back the electricity in the affected provinces.
“Sa tingin ko medyo mabagal, mabagal iyong galaw,” Robredo said. “Tingin ko kailangan tulungan kung paano mapapabilis kasi medyo unusual ito na eight days after hindi pa nga 50% iyong nababalik na kuryente,” Mrs. Robredo said.
But she’s more worried how the government can give livelihood to the affected families who lost their jobs because of the destructive Typhoon.
“Dito, so far, dito sa barangay na ito, iyong damage to crops ang pinakagrabe. Ito iyong mahirap makabangon kasi ito lang ang means ng livelihood dito.” Robredo said.
The Vice President said that she’s already cooperating with the Barangay Captains to produce the requirements to ask assistance to the Department of Agriculture.
“Iyong problema talaga is iyong hanapbuhay. Kaya sinabihan ko si Kap na asikasuhin na namin iyong lahat ng requirements para ihingi na natin iyong tulong sa DA kasi kung hindi natin ito maasikaso agad-agad wala talagang kakainin iyong mga tao.” She said.
