WATCH: Gunshots heard as President Rodrigo Duterte visits Marawi Grand Mosque, 300 meters near the battlefield

President Rodrigo Duterte put his life in danger again as he visited the Grand Mosque located in Marawi City on Tuesday.

The war-torn Mosque is only 300 meters away from the front line where the government forces and members of Maute Terrorist Group exchanged fires.

PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson who also visited the Grand Mosque together with some AFP officials posted the video of the incident.

On the video posted by Uson on her blog, gunshots and cannons can still be heard, an evidence that the President is already near the front line.

Uson narrated how she became nervous when she and President Rodrigo Duterte visited the Grand Mosque.

Despite of the possible dangers of being near the battle field, President Rodrigo Duterte insisted to visit the Grand Mosque which considered as a holy place of the Muslims in Marawi City.

The President also seems calm during his visit in the Grand Mosque despite of the continuing fire fight between his men and the remaining members of the terrorist group.

This was the fourth visit of President Rodrigo Duterte in Marawi City since the siege started on May 23.

The AFP said that they already cornered the terrorist group who led the siege in Marawi City.

However, the soldiers were still challenged because their enemies still occupied several strong and tall buildings in Marawi City.

President Rodrigo Duterte vowed to restore Marawi City after the war. Different countries also already announced that they would help the government to rebuild the war-torn city.
