Actress Vivian Velez revealed on Wednesday that Senator Leila De Lima was allegedly staying in an luxurious 5-star hotel in Washington DC.
To make sure that the information that she received was true, she tried to get connected to the Lady Senator’s room worth $680 per night or P33,854 in our currency, but the hotel staff informed her that De Lima was already checked out.
“She stayed in the grand Premier Room which costs $680.00(per today’s exchange rate that is 33,854 pesos) per night.” Velez wrote.
Velez questioned how the De Lima afforded to stay in a luxurious hotel if she’s only making 90,000 a month as a Senator of the Philippines.
The actress said that the Senator can only afford that kind of hotel if she has other source of income.
“That is kinda stiff if you ask me, even for a senator making 90,000 pesos a month. Unless of course, she has other sources of income which Dayan maybe able to shed a light on. ”
The camp of Senator Leila De Lima has not yet revealed if the expenses of the Lady Senator in her trip to United States was shouldered by herself or by the organizers.

She’s also scheduled to became the guest speaker at the December 14 to 19 Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin.
