Hashtag Nikko calls out Bato for not allowing policemen to have tattoos: Edi kayo na malinis!

After Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa expressed his opposition on the bill that allowing tattooed individual to become a law enforcer, a member of boy dance group Hashtag criticized the soon-to-be-retired top cop.

Nikko Natividad of Hashtag is one of the people who attacked Dela Rosa for his belief that police officers that have some tattoos in their body would be look like ‘criminal’.

According to his post on Instagram, Natividad taunted at Dela Rosa with a sarcastic message to the top cop.

“Opo madumi po kami. Para po kaming criminal. Salamat po. Sorry po Mr. CLEAN.” Natividad said.

Because of this, several netizens attacked Natividad for being ‘close-minded’ and showing no respect to the Director General.

Natividad said after bashing Dela Rosa, a cop itself in his social media account.

O anak nyo? Kapatid nyo o Asawa nyo o kayo mismo. Ano mararamdaman niyo?.” he added.

During a press conference in Camp Crame several days ago, Dela Rosa apologized to the individuals with tattoos wanted to be cop, but he insisted that they’re really not allowed to enter the organization.

Bato said that if they really wanted to become a police, they must follow the requirements and remove their tattoos.

“Pasensya na sa mga may tattoo ha, alam ko you will invoke your right to express your artistic desires. Dela Rosa said.

Aside from PNP, Department of National Defense also opposed the lifting of tattoo ban for police applicants.

“Any good reason why we will lift it? We would like to keep it that way…The military imposes strict rules on haircut and even mustache, why not tattoo? Tattoos are ugly and connotes gangster image,” Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said.

Davao City Representative Karlo Nograles proposed the lifting of tattoo ban for police and military applicants and called it a “archaic” requirement.
