Did his teacher forgot that our flag is one of the most important thing that must be respect all the time?
This student who recorded himself mopping the floor using our flag criticised by the Filipino Netizens worldwide. According to the National Historical Commision of the Philippines or NHCP, disrespecting the flag is a big violation to our constitution.
The student is now searched by the authorities but some news circulated that the suspect is now in the custody of the authorities and already paying for his bad acts.
According to REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8491 or “AN ACT PRESCRIBING THE CODE OF THE NATIONAL FLAG, ANTHEM, MOTTO, COAT-OF-ARMS AND OTHER HERALDIC ITEMS AND DEVICES OF THE PHILIPPINE,” “reverence and respect shall at all times be accorded the flag, the anthem and other national symbols which embody the national ideals and traditions and which express the principles of sovereignty and national solidarity.”
Anyone found guilty of violating provisions in said act will “be punished by a fine of not less than Five thousand pesos (5,000.00) not more than Twenty thousand pesos (P20,000.00), or by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year, or both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court.”
