PBA Party-list Representative Jericho Nograles blasted the two members of the ‘Impeach Leni Movement’ for allegedly using his name without his consent to impeach Vice President Leni Robredo.
Nograles said that he never knew Rivera and Angeles and he was shocked when he saw his name on the first page of the complaint.
“I do not know these people. I have not met them, I have not [shaken] their hands. Even when I asked them, ‘Magkakilala ba tayo? Have we ever met? Have we ever spoken?’ Sabi nila hindi,” He said.
The lawmaker also said that he’s planning to sue the two anti-leni lawyers because of what they did.
Rivera Apologizes to Congressman Nograles
Attorney Bruce V. Rivera quickly responded on the statement released by Congressman Jericho Nograles.
He said that the incident was a ‘result of a communication’ and he explained that they were told to give a copy of the complaint to him.
The lawyer said that they included the name of the lawmaker so it would be easier for him to sign the complaint.
Rivera also clarified that the impeachment complaint submitted to other members of the congress did not include the name of Nograles anymore.
The lawyer apologized to the lawmaker for the incident.
“We apologize to Congressman Jericho Nograles for this unfortunate situation. We truly understand that the job as legislator is a daunting task and we will never intend to make his already difficult job, more difficult,” Rivera said in his Facebook post.
