A former Overseas Filipino Worker in Middle East and now a taxi driver from Davao City has gained fame after one of his passengers recorded his hidden talent and shared it on Facebook.
Elcias A. Bugsad, a taxi driver who works at Transylvania Transport Inc. showcased how can he imitate the voice and accent of President Rodrigo Duterte to his passenger Rachelle Oyette Dequina.
Bugsad didn’t fail to entertain his passenger who laughed every time he imitated the voice of the former Davao City Mayor.
The eight minute video which recorded by Dequina and posted on February 2 showed Bugsad accurately imitated the voice while using some of the memorable lines of President Rodrigo Duterte without effort.
Dequina discovered the talent of the taxi driver while they’re driving to a mall and she said that her stomach hurts because of the laugh that Mang Elcias gave to her.
Because she believed that Mang Elcias would gain fame because of his talent, Dequina didn’t forget to know the identity of the taxi driver and she also took a groupie with him.
The video which Bugsad was featured reached 90,000 shares and millions of views, 12 hours after it was posted on Facebook.
Mang Elcias received thousands of praise from the netizens who got entertained by his talent and some of them hoped that President Rodrigo Duterte could watch the video itself and invite the taxi driver in Malacanang.
Even the media took the opportunity to hunt Mang Elcias to personally witness his talent.
His friends and colleagues who see him everyday couldn’t still stop themselves in laughing while the driver turned internet celebrity was showcasing his talent in front of the press.
Because of the views that he received on social media in a matter of short time, everyone expected that Mang Elcias fame will not fade quickly and he might be featured in several TV programs.
Some even urged the famous magazine television show ‘Kapuso Mo Jessica Sojo’ to feature Mang Elcias to entertain their Sunday nights with his talent to imitate the President’s voice.
As of writing, Mang Elcias is not yet commenting or giving any statement on the tremendous amount of fame that he gained on social media just because he only wanted to entertain his passenger.
