Senator Risa Hontiveros lashed back to Davao City mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio after the latter asked her followers and the Department of Justice if the lady senator is becoming the new spokesperson of the Maute terrorist group.
According to the lady senator, the tactic used by Inday Sara was also used by the former President Ferdinand Marcos against his political enemies.

“This is the same tactic used by the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos against democracy defenders like Soc Rodrigo, Lorenzo Tanada and Ka Pepe Diokno,” Hontiveros said in a statement on Saturday.
“Even then President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo resorted to this when she accused journalist Tina Panganiban Perez of abetting a rebellion when the latter was simply fulfilling her duty as a member of a free press,” She said.
On Thursday, Inday-Sara Duterte watched the interview of senator Risa Hontiveros while explaining the definition of Rebellion and Invasion.
“paki explain sakoa ni.. kay murag na siya [Hontiveros] spokesperson sa mga terrorista..[pakiexplain sa akin ito, kase parang nagiging spokesperson siya ng mga terrorista] and why is nobody doing anything about this???” Inday Sara said.
Senator Hontiveros expressed her disappointment and she didn’t expected that she would hear that kind of words to her fellow ‘woman leader’
“The Mayor and I have been friendly acquaintances for some years, and I respect her as a fellow woman leader,” Hontiveros said.
